TIME IS A HEALER

Published on 28 March 2023 at 20:29

I'm extremely passionate about this!

This is a huge lie we tell ourselves and each other, but we only push ourselves into victim mentality. Please think about it the next time before you say: time will heal everything.

It won't.

It can't.

I've heard this and said this myself many times in my life. Boy I was wrong!

I did not know that waiting for time to fix my situation is passive, unused time, leading nowhere.

Waiting for time to fix anything is not choosing a direction in life, not setting any goals and not wanting to take responsibility for my mental, emotional or another sort of situation. Kind of "it will be what it will be, I'm not doing anything".

Complete victim mentality.

So the situation is the following (let's close your eyes and visualize it): your toilet is clogged!

Bahh, frigging disgusting.

You wanna wait until time shows up with a toilet pump and unclogs it?

I hope you are visual either and you laugh with me.

You can wait, you might have luck.

BUT!

You might also take some action, call the plumber and have it taken care of.

Because time is not a plumber, a doctor, a mechanic, a coach, a psychologisch, a boyfriend, a girlfriend, you name it.

It has NO POWER TO FIX things or mental, emotional situations.

It's passive, and in this case powerless.

Sometimes you can't do anything but to wait. You don't have the resources or you don't have the power to decide in a situation. Then you wait.

But in case of your own emotional or mental suffering you can't wait for time. Not all the time. Or until the end of time.

What are you waiting for?

What are you afraid of?

In my experience people are afraid of one of the following things:

  • an outcome occurs they don't expect,
  • an outcome occurs they can't handle,
  • they have no idea what they actually want, so they don't do anything,
  • it turns out how weak and powerless they are,
  • it turns out that the situation is not fixable, and they wouldn't be able to accept this,
  • insert your version here.

Could you find why you are not taking action to heal your inner scars?

This is also something we can work on: how to be confident enough to handle the unexpected, painful situations of your life.

Let's hope you could. What now?

As a coach I would ask you:

WHAT DO YOU WANT?

I would ask you to describe me the desired outcome, THE GOAL!

This would set you on a path, give you a direction.

So let's get back to your clogged toilet. (Still eewww.)

What's your desired outcome?

An unclogged toilet - you would say.

What do you need to do to have it unclogged?

You either choose to grab the phone and call a plumber, OR, you get started yourself.

See you next

TIME.
